End Of Dowry? Hopefully So

Wow it is incredible,

Unthinkable,

It is happening, At last,

Here in India It starts,

If it is the begining of the end of Dowry..... three cheers!

Now the decks are about to take a 360 degree.

Girls can feel thier real value...

Dowry has been the reason behind the tears in many a young woman and girls.

Indian marriages bore this shameful tag of dowry for many hundreds of years

Ironically the descrimination against the girl and girlchild has come to their rescue.

If this Report From Reuters is true, the ultra sonography tests to identify the sex of the child and to abort female foetus has been a scathing problem many governmental and nongovernment organization put in.

Now due to lack of girls (only 500 girls for 1000 boys in Rajasthan, the parents of boys are willing to pay the girl's father with the expenses of marriage.

Very heartening indeed.

Chicky Babe rules; Did you find her?

I come across chicky Babe's blog, Her blog is too wonderful to read, but have little space left for commenting.

I think majority of her fans are men. I lifted the following post from Her Blog

Things Men Should Never Ask

Communication between the sexes has always been fraught with some difficulties. To put it simply, we all belong to the human species yet it seems that owning different rude bits can have a huge impact on our brains and the way we think and exchange words with one another.

Sophie and I shared a couple of cocktails recently and swapped stories, and we deduced that some men like to state the obvious when all is required is a little action instead of words.

I appreciate that some men like to take everything literally, an annoying albeit amusing Gemini trait she and I have endured when we both worked with Liam, but some things are just too obvious to warrant questions like these.

Are you asking me to flirt with you?
I have just spent the last hour teasing you, encouraging you with my words and body language, and gave you all the hints you could possibly want. How hard can it be to have a little flirt and see how I react?

Do you want me to look at your breasts?
Ugh... Don’t ask me as if you’re doing me a favour. If my cleavage has caught your eye, and I notice you taking a look, I’ll be flattered. But making it sound like you’re asking if you want to replace my car battery or drawing attention to the act, will result in a flat “no”. And I have made my feelings known here.

Do you want me to kiss you?
There is but one reply to this question: Just shut up and kiss me.

Undapakru Weds Gayathri

Undapakru Gets Married

Ajaya Kumar who loves to be known as Undapakru and later his nickname turned to Pakru tied knots with Gayathri Mohan (20), daughter of Mohan Babu from Pathanamthitta.

So what is so special about this marriage? Well the marriage attracts me solely because of the height difference they have. Ajaya Kumar is only 2’ 9” tall while Gayathri is 5’2”.

Wish Ajaya Kumar a long (no puns) and happy married life.

Undapakru caught the attention of everyone with his performance in the fantasy Malayalam film, Adbhuthavilakku, in which he place the role of a dwarf prince, Gajendran of a wonder island, where the men were cursed of stunted growth.

The film is full of scenes, the normal sized women carrying their husbands. The dreams of young women in the island had them carrying their husbands on their shoulders.

In the film dwarf husbands and tall women make happy pairs. Some organizations protested the film saying it demeaned the dwarfs.

Anyway in real life a young girl expresses a heart much taller than her body height.

Long live… Undapakru sorry Gajendra Maharaja with your Maharani in your own empire…

Marriages of East N Relationships of West

Marriages of East N Relationships of West

Fundamental differences arise while comparing the relationships in West with that of East. By West I mean America and other developed countries and East is countries including India.

Celibacy till marriage is the practice in India and almost all eastern and central east countries. No similarity is found in American culture. By the time of marriage, both men and women will have experiences in ‘everything’.

Family relations are somewhat stable in Eastern communities. Couples completing 25 years or 50 years of married life make no news in India. Compare this against the general condition in America. As I have seen, many people are there in America putting high values for family relations. Hats off to them!

Finding a bride or finding a bridegroom is not the responsibility of youngsters in India. Their parents will find a suitable match for them. This traditionally is called ‘arranged marriages’. More than 80% of marriages happen this way. Love develops between the couples after marriage.

Yes there are cases of love till marriage and hate after that. Not the general case.

The relationship sites are also named aptly. Western relationship sites generally take the tag of ‘Dating sites’. The term casual dating causes many wrinkles in many foreheads till today in India.

In India the sites are termed Matrimonial sites. Bharat Matrimony, Jeevan Sathi, Shaadi.com are the major matrimonial sites of India.

Who uses the matrimonial sites more? It is the parents or elders who use the matrimonial sites. The profile for the bride is created by her father or elder sister. This is the common phenomenon you will see while browsing through the profiles. It seems that grooms create their own profiles.

In fact arranged marriages, celibacy till marriage are fast becoming things of past. Western influence is sweeping across the country, thanks to MTV, Reality Show, Friend Finder.com, etc. Casual dating or dining out or dancing together or sex before marriage is no more a taboo among Indian youth.

Top Five Reasons to Shun Valentines Day

Top Five Reasons to Shun Valentines Day

Never shun Valentines Day, it carries a message. Don’t make it a show after forgetting the real meaning and pulse of Valentine Day.

  1. Valentines Day commercializes love. It is our business houses that promote Valentines Day than the lovers. They are more than happy if they can sell some roses, teddy bears, satins, jewelry including gold and diamonds, spas and hotel vacation and what not?

  2. It makes a show of love. It is a continuation of 1st point. Public display of love and people just think they should burn a hole in their pocket to make his or her valentine happy.

  3. No heart-touch feelings are really there. It is a mass journey with the mass. No one wants to get out of the crowd and it just flows.

  4. Lovers never needed a day to love. All their days start with heart-filled love and ends with the same feelings. For real lovers, everyday is Valentines Day.

  5. Today’s Valentine Day brings strange pressures to the minds of young people. They feel they ‘must’ buy something, must do something or must go somewhere. It can’t be actual following of the heart.

  6. If Valentines Day is the only day you think about your sweetheart, you are lost! You don’t have the time to love or you are not made for love.

Love is tonic for heart.
Love gives reason to live.
Love permeates from heart to heart.

From this you see I am not against Valentine’s Day. On this day remember St. Valentine who gave us the reason to celebrate love. Make it a celebration of heart. Make it sweet to heart. But never make it an one–hour or one–day affair.
